Co-Chair West

Jayelle is a two-spirit Métis student at the University of Manitoba and one of the founders of IMSAC. She is passionate about Indigenous advocacy and leadership.

Stephanie is Anishinaabe from Lac Seul First Nation and a medical student at McMaster University.

Director of Advocacy & Representation

Jamie is Settler-Métis-Cree who has lived in Manitouwadge, Ignace, and Thunder Bay. She studies at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in Thunder Bay and is an avid beader and hide tanner.

Sebastian has mixed settler and Cree roots. He was born and raised in London, Ontario, and is currently a medical student at the University of Toronto.

Laney is a second-year medical student at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry in London, ON. Laney grew up in Deninu K’ue, NT and is a member of the Fort Resolution Metis Nation and is both Metis and Dene.

Josha is a nehiyaw iskwew (Cree woman) with roots in Saddle Lake Cree Nation. She is currently entering her second year as a medical student at McMaster University.

Sydney is Settler- Red River Métis who grew up in Nanaimo, BC. She is currently a second year medical student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is passionate about Indigenous leadership and advocacy work.

Gaawiin aapiji ninitaa-anishinnabemowin. Gaawiin ningikenimaasii nindoodem. Stefon Irvine miinawaa Stef nindizhinikaaz. Niin niizh manidoowag.

Stefon a two-spirit Red River Métis with maternal Cree roots who is studying medicine at the University of Manitoba. He grew up in northern Manitoba and has paternal settler ancestors. Stefon is unapologetically anti-racist, intentionally de-colonial, and speaks out against systems of oppression. Stefon leads research in retaining Indigenous people and other historically marginalized communities in medicine.

Quebec Regional Director

Frédérique is a University of Montreal medical student  of mixed settler (Quebec) and Kanien'kehà:ka (Mohawk) . She was born and raised in Montreal (Tio'Tia:ke). 

 

Frédérique est une étudiante en médecine de l'Université de Montréal. Elle est d'origine Kanien'kehà:ka (Mohawk) et canadienne-française et a grandi à Montréal (Tio'Tia:ke).
